Assertive Design, Inc., an EDA Company, Forms to Reframe the System Verification Problem

EVERETT, MA, April 15, 2005. Assertive Design announces that it is delivering software products that enable high-quality system verification of hardware designs using assertions without the need for the separate development of the assertions. This enables all the cost reduction and quality benefits of having the assertions without the time and cost of developing the assertions. Assertive’s key executive team includes President and CEO Angelo Guadagno, VP R&D Bob Fredieu, CTO Andy Meyer, and VP Engineering Mike Concannon.

The Company also announces that it has secured its Series A funding from Navigator Technology Ventures and private sources to commercialize its design and verification technology.

Semiconductor design companies spend more that $1B annually on a variety of design verification software tools. Improving upon the fifteen-year-old, traditional RTLs, Assertive Design’s first products target the entire design and verification market.

Assertive’s tools generate assertions needed to match the design, with automatic error reporting and functional coverage. Assertive’s tools may be used in combination with traditional design tools.
